Recycling Programs
Norpen offers recycling for many items at all four of our landfill sites. Theses recycling programs include Paint, Electronics, Metals, Oils, Tires, Batteries, & Household Hazardous Waste.See below for details on each recycling category.
Electronics
The E-waste recycling program is administered by EPRA. We accept nearly all electronic items including T.V.s, Cell Phones, Sound systems, Computers, Printers, etc.

Paint
Under the paint recycling program by Product Care we are able to accept many types of paint. This includes most forms of household paint, aerosols, & empty paint cans.
We are unable to accept items such as paint thinners, tints, resins, unlabeled or non-original containers.

Metals
We offer metal & auto recycling at all our sites. Accepted items include scrap metal, large appliances, & automobiles.
please insure that all items are drained of any fuel, oils, coolants, or any other liquids before disposal.
Used Oils
Do your own oil changes? Or are you a business who handles used oil products (filters, containers…and much more)? We’ll help you easily recycle it all.

Used Tires
Used tires must be in whole form, free of mud and debris, and must have the rims removed prior to being taken to a tire retailer or other collection location.

Hazardous Waste
With financial assistance from MMSB, NorPen opened an Household Hazardous Waste Depot on June 29, 2009. The depot which is located at the landfill site in Subregion 1, will be a temporary storage facility for hazardous waste. This depot is a safe, environmentally friendly and convenient way for residents to properly dispose of household hazardous waste.
